WHY THERAPY?

The goal of therapy is to improve your overall mental health, which can impact many aspects of your life. Therapy is one of the first steps towards addressing and healing from any mental health issue; anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship issues, addiction or any issue that might be making your life a challenge or a struggle at the moment. Therapy allows self-understanding, the possibility of new attitudes and feelings towards life situations, a space to explore and process feelings of sadness, fear, and pain. The process can be transformative and offer life-altering results.

HOW I WORK

I am an experienced, registered Integrative Psychotherapist and Counsellor, offering psychotherapy and counselling to individuals at my practice close to Farnham, Surrey, or remotely online. I am a Registered Member of the BACP, NCS and also a BACP Children, Young People & Families Member. I work with men and women of all ages and draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches and models to work effectively with each individual.

You may be seeking help for any variety of reasons, whether it’s a long term problem that won’t go away or an immediate crisis, causing you distress.

The aim of counselling and psychotherapy is to create a supportive and caring environment where you can explore a wide range of issues safely.

First and foremost, I come from a position of support, empathy and respect. My approach is primarily relational, meaning the emphasis is on the healing nature of the therapeutic relationship, and that the work is forged on the establishment of that alliance and adapted to suit your needs and the issues that you bring. My aim throughout is to increase the self-knowledge and self-acceptance needed for growth and change to occur.  By knowing yourself better you can become more of who you are, which is deeply healing in its own right. This deeper self-awareness can provide the foundation, from which important changes in your life can occur.

I work with a wide variety of issues including:

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

  • Effects of past and present trauma, including PTSD and abuse

  • Depression

  • Addictions

  • Bereavement

  • Relationship difficulties

  • Young Adults

TEENAGERS AND YOUNG ADULTS

As a psychotherapist specialising in young adults and teens, I find immense fulfillment in journeying alongside my clients during their formative years. My approach is grounded in empathy and understanding, creating a space where my clients feel safe to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences without judgment. I recognise the unique challenges this demographic faces, from navigating relationships and identity to coping with academic pressures and mental health concerns. Through tailored therapeutic work, I aim to empower my clients to develop resilience, coping skills, and a deeper understanding of themselves. Witnessing their growth and progress is incredibly rewarding, and I am dedicated to supporting them as they navigate the complexities of adolescence and emerge stronger and more resilient individuals.

MY STORY

A graduate of Bristol University, I trained as a psychotherapist at Regents University where I completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy and Counselling. In 2017, I began my private practice in West London and Surrey.

I am an Accredited Member of the National Counselling Society and a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), and I practice in accordance with its ethical framework.

I am regularly supervised by a registered supervisor,  and continue to develop my learning through Continued Professional Development courses throughout each year.

Life can get difficult, and help from a professional psychotherapist can make life freer, more fulfilling, less overwhelming and more authentic. I care deeply about my clients wellbeing and provide an empathetic, non judgemental, warm presence in a confidential space.

FEEDBACK

Client Experiences

"Therapy with Katie was the best decision I’ve ever made! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking to understand their own behaviour, and that of others around them. If you want to improve your life, I highly recommend you get in touch with her"

"Katie has helped me find the tools to better understand myself, to start understanding and unpicking the roots my emotions and beliefs, and to find a more empathetic space to recognise my own behavioural patterns and those of others. This allows me to be more compassionate to myself and those around me, approach difficult situations from a calmer, more constructive place, and engage with the world around me in a profoundly more meaningful way.

I really cannot say how grateful I am for this"

"Katie’s genuine passion and care for her field as well as her clients is so rare to find. Her ability to listen, to reflect, to teach you and to empower you is something I’ve never seen before. I had total faith in Katie throughout because of the level of respect and trust I had for her and her commitment to me.

Because I met Katie, I have been able to find a life free from anxiety. Where I can live in the present moment without worry or fear.

I have no idea what my life would look like without Katie and I don’t want to know. If you have the opportunity to work with Katie, take it. She is a bright light in the world."
